A history told through the control that stopped working.

The Buy Button reconstructs January 28, 2021 from notices, hearing records, market-structure reports and the language users made when the interface changed beneath them.

It follows the event beyond the feed: into settlement, collateral, testimony, regulation, memory and, finally, Robinhood Chain. The project publishing this book appears only after the historical object has earned its meaning; that relationship is disclosed below.

Five movements. One control.

Each PDF has a fixed SHA-256 digest. The unchanged first-edition deposit contains the manuscript, source register, publication metadata, original citation file and rights ledger. Independent Wayback captures preserve the landing page, metadata and screen PDF. The deposit has a pending OpenTimestamps calendar receipt; no DOI, Bitcoin confirmation, external review or institutional endorsement is claimed until that exact record exists.

Primary records where possible.

The historical account is anchored to Robinhood's January 2021 notices, the SEC staff report, congressional testimony and committee records, the move to T+1 settlement, and official Robinhood Chain documentation.

Third-party archival images are not reproduced. The book uses project-created visual commentary and links every factual record it relies on.
