# Rights and upload review

## Provenance

The five Button Clerk reactions are rendered entirely from geometric Pillow
primitives in `scripts/render-original-reaction-set.py`.

The renderer has no photographic, video, font, celebrity, public-figure,
third-party character, logo, film, television, stock-media, or existing meme
inputs. The button is blank: it contains no ticker, trade instruction, company
name, or third-party mark.

`CHECKSUMS.sha256` binds the reviewed renderer, five GIFs, five MP4 masters,
manifest, and upload metadata to this record. Run `shasum -a 256 -c
studio/reactions-original/CHECKSUMS.sha256` from the repository root before
uploading.

This provenance record does not guarantee copyright registration, uniqueness,
trademark clearance, or platform acceptance. OpenAI's applicable terms state
that, as between the user and OpenAI and to the extent permitted by law, the
user owns output; the same terms warn that output may not be unique.

## Human checks before upload

1. Confirm that the uploader controls the named GIPHY/Tenor account.
2. Review all five loops for accidental similarity to a third-party character.
3. Keep titles and tags reaction-first and factually descriptive.
4. Do not add `$BUY`, a contract, price language, or a financial call to action.
5. Use the project site only as the platform-supported source URL.
6. Apply to GIPHY as a Brand, not as an independent Creator, if the channel
   represents the project.
7. Read the current GIPHY and Tenor terms at upload time. Uploading grants each
   platform the license described in its current terms.
